Commissions, Me, & The Best Season Ever!

As of late I've been filling my time plotting and planning out a Halloween costume. Halloween is by far superior  to all special occasions!  Personal opinion of course, but I mean how can you not love all that awesomeness and of course the crazy artistic lengths some people go to! This year I'm hoping to put all of my creative juices to work! I have a few plots a plotting in the old brain box, one such idea is a tribute to a couple of animators whose work I love.  We will see however if my schedule permits...more on that later!

In other news, I just completed and sent off a commission for a good friend of mine who is in theater. It was actually a super fun build and brandished one of my bird skulls as the center piece.  The choker was steam punk inspired and was meant to warn by a head mistress.  I couldn't have been happier with the end result.  As a result of the result I now have more commissions and that's exciting! :D

Brain Stealing and Lindsay Stirling :D

I have to say there are a lot of people I admire and it really has to do with their accomplishments. There are so many people in this world, and creatively speaking to bring something to the table that's is fresh, interesting and captivating is a challenge all in itself, but to also do that while sticking to your own guns is incredible. With technology these days almost anything is possible and can spread like a virus or die instantly. So many voices fighting to be herd and with site like you tube anyone's got a shot at getting there's out there.  It's those individuals that stick to it and infect, inspire and leave a mark on people and or their community that really stick out to me and makes me want to steal their brains, in a non-creepy non stakerish kinda way...By brains I clearly mean all of their knowledge. ;D

One of these such people I admire is Lindsay Stirling, and if you don’t know who she is check her out
HERE. :D Lindsay is doing a tour right now and I was lucky enough to get to see here perform in TO! I have to say amazing! The show was great from a technical and creative stance. To think all of this started by just putting herself out there and persevering, creating a life where she can do what she loves! If that’s not grabbing life the balls I don’t know what is.

Beside the brain stealing, I want to be like these people and I think being inspired is an amazing thing. I want to preserver and forage my own path and have enough wisdom and courage to stay true to myself while learning along the way.

Cheers to inspiration!
On a side note totally babbled like an idiot when I got to talk to her and she signed my cd…Smooth as always! XD

Aftermath of The Super Crawl!

Posting this update on super crawl a little later then I wanted, due to a crazy schedule! In which I am now doing  Jujitsu,  Muay Thai on top of work, commissions and getting the online store up and running! Getting active feels amazing plus no summer blues for this one, Fall is the most amazing of seasons. (personal opinion of course :D)

Back to the Art Crawl, Amazing! For my first festival I couldn't have asked for better.  I was able to not only get my own work out but word on the opening shop.  I'm defiantly looking forward to expanding my own line as well as doing more festivals. Thanks to all of the people that showed and I hope the Crawl was as amazing for you as it was for me. If you didn't get to attend this year's Super Crawl, Hamilton does a number of smaller Crawls threw out the months.   You can find events here: James North Art Crawl, and I hope you will consider supporting your local artist!

Coffee, me, and other cool things! :D

What do a path a fat platypus and a four leaf clover have in common? O.o

Me! If you know anything about Turkish coffee this may mean slightly more to you. First you make said coffee, you then drink the delicious beverage, avoiding drinking grounds in the bottom, after which you flip your cup on to a saucer and wait.  This is when the cool part happens. Similar to tea leafs the grounds left in the bottom of the cup  are used to tell your fortune.  :D In this case it was mine, which brings me back to the question of a path a fat platypus and a four leaf clover. Apparently I may be in for a trip of some sort , this maybe harbored by some indecision and or a big decision that needs to be made and lastly luck is on my side. Now like most fortunes there a bit of wiggle room for interpretation and  with Turkish coffee there is also a "house" component, which in my case I have a lot of bills to pay....yey...

On another note I talked about personal projects  :D and I must say they are going great! to your side you will find a picture of the start of my wearable art creations. Which might I add are starten to look pretty sexy!

Other then that I was able to visit the CNE this weekend and find a few awesome finds mainly fossils and a shell of a stenopax magdalensis, which is part of the Chiton family one of these guys, below. There pretty damn cool and apparently all over the place and can get a lot bigger than the one I managed to pick up. I didn't even know they existed, seriously look em up!
