Sew Secret Project!

To all my fellow, fans and followers of pastifarianism that have been graced or touched by those noodley appendages, call out your beat Arrrrrrr's and behold the(insert drum roll here)............ .......................hat? O.o

Yes, the warm, the soft, the useful fleece winter hat sporting yours truly the flying spaghetti monster. Now to whatever God you chose to follow I hope that the humor of this particular piece of fashion DO, can be appreciated XD. I mean who doesn’t want to wear their God on their head?

Working out the first attempt of this hat probably took me a bit longer then desired however I did manage to cram it all in to a week of evening after work at the shop. Which is pretty awesome considering it was birthday gift. :)

Mission Accomplished!

Plus on the up side now with that hat walking around the word is slowly infiltrating its way deeper into society.

I'm still trying to work out how to make the hats
Profitable for possible sale, with the extra bits it’s still looking like it would cost a pretty penny. Mind you I would only be looking to create custom hats and have a few more in mind to do in my free hours in the evenings. Hope you like!

Internet Failage!

So apologies for the lack of post for last week when the inter webs decided to up and fail soon after my heat decided to throw in the towel as well. So beside being unplugged if you will, most of my time has been spent working elsewhere or huddling up with three blankets some tea and ROME (excellent HBO show ps.)  on account my Xbox live was dead as well.

But with all that said, I am Back! With Heat and online capabilities! and possibly some zombie killing action in the back ground... and of coarse last weeks post! :)

Let’s Put the Class Back in ABC…

Alright so I am going to assume most people have heard of an “Anything But Cloths party”. My question is though; Why is it that first thing our ladies pull out is saran wrap and tinsel? Come on girls, unless you want to be Dexter’s next victim let’s do something more original.

Inspiration is a great place to start! And with a theme like that anything goes, so why not go crazy! Look around your house for starters, I can’t tell you how tempted I was to make a garment out of multicoloured dish washing gloves. Eh eh. :D

Next is defiantly budget...

Wait, budget? Ah, well I am a starving art student gone starving artist here...

Hence my personal favourite place to start hunting: the dollar store. Up and down those isles are a collection of odds and end you can glue, sew and staple all over your body in countless ways shape and forms. The seasonal section is what I ended up settling on. One look at all those glorious red bows and I had blinders on! But please do not mistake this for a love of x-mas. That is defiantly lacking in this meat sack!

Speaking of meat... I’ve even known people crazy enough to make oh let's say, kilts out of bologna. I’d have to say be weary of that choice if you have pets. The fate of that particular garment was very short lived...

With all this said I totally get time restrictions and limited budgets. But unless you’re going to do something like this (Above) Let’s try something new? :P

P.S. To see more of my Bow Dress Check out: New Post

The Drunkin' Fish

Still running around crazy-like, but loving all the work and self-induced projects! So, like I said, I will post every week, and hey, this is week two. Have to say this is a record for me! Between mascot making and other stuff I have managed to do a few (very few), sketches for the new Drunkin’ Fish logo. The one on the blog now (see above) is actually a second draft of my original design which was created years ago.

I came up with the name on a whim for an art project at school in which we had to design... well, a design company, with business cards to go along with it.

That reminds me, those are in need of updating too….But they cannot be done without said new logo. I’m going to attach some of my most recent sketches. I’ve been ho humming over what kind of fish it’s going to be a Piranha or an angler fish, both of which hold a special place in my heart...

...Work in Progress.   :)

My life in a Post

HELLO, to those reading this now and those that may read this later! And Happy Movember!  So much Fail again on this blogging thing…

Or is it?

This is a post after a few months of absence. O_o So lets Rewind a bit shall we? Here's a recap of my Life over the last few months :D

August

This was my final year of post-secondary education (at least for a bit).  Four years and I have obtained a diploma in arts, and two certificates in Theatre and Special Fx. On top of those I had my volunteer hours for my major arts projects due. With the addition of crazy roommate situations and the start of the illusive hunt for an apartment in the big City...

This was a month to re reckoned with.

September

The new school year starts without me! The first time since I was three that I have not been in school. I was made an Official Employee at Hogtown Mascots and was finally "Makin' Money". This month was a whirlwind of packing and I was desperately trying to find a home as the days of my lease drew to a close.
 Moved.

 October

The adjustment period. Working at Hogtown, going through the motions. Reality Check, freak of about Life! No School/No Structure. Real life/No Osap/New Place/Real Life/Accomplishments?/Making a name for myself...

REAL LIFE… O.o

Now I know this whole freaking out at 23 over no major accomplishments is silly and what have you, but I figure one month period of being lost, dazed, and confused isn`t too bad in the great scheme of things.

Movember to Current!

THEN! Movember came, sweet, sweet light at the end of the tunnel, epiphany Movember… Things started moving and falling in to place. Got the opportunity to work at Stefaniuk FX Studio, on what they said was an impossible rush job with the new crazy kids from this year’s Fx Program.
Long hours, great company and a fully functional, awesome looking project done! Go Team! And, hell, we were a great one! Happy I got to be a part of that! On my own note finally settle on some personal projects one of which is this blog with my rekindle determination and vision!!

     Ta Da!

So none the less I am up and running again. Hopefully with Weekly updates about my new projects and endeavors. Which, with any luck, will lead to a small Cult following (always wanted one of those).  I figure, to make this work I need this blog to inspire me as much as I inspire it

…Yes..

...No...

Does that make sense?

Originally the aim was to have a professional blog. But I wanted it to represent me and my life. It is interesting and a bit crazy to say the least. Plus I`m in an industry that allows me to in a way perpetually stay a big kid which, I have to say, is pretty cool. With that said, until I have enough money and reputation to pay someone to tell me I`m doing it wrong and do it right for me I`m doing this my way and I hope it tickles your fancy.

Thanks!

CompCard Action

So for now this is what I have come up with for a Compcard :D Things may change a little considering making this blog has caused me to locate a lot of my photos and put them in one place. Which makes creating a hard copy portfolio much easier :)

A side note on the front  of the card; The 'Wendigo' Creature Originates from Native American Culture. This was my take on how I envisioned it, and with a excellent creative team we were able to bring it to life.  Finalized by my post touches it has become a project that I hold is high Regards.
